Yay!! As you can see I recently purchased the new Spellbinder dies and some gorgeous stamps (Glitz, Kaisercraft, MME) too! Now all I need are the basic Spellbinder dies to make frames out of the ornate ones!

Going Shabby Chic Again!

DSC05622

DSC05618

Waaaay too many layers on this card, I know! But I love layers and dimension and it has been a while since I let loose and made something just the way I wanted. Some hand stitching, some glitter, some of my favourite border punch! I used a bit of Pink Paislee’s London Market paper here, soon I will have their stamps too Smilejust bought some from SSS.

If you can see I coloured over the embossed paneling and it looks pretty cool in person.

That’s it for me today, see you tomorrow with another card.

I solemnly swear I love All Things Teresa Collins!

IMG_2068
Hello everyone! Today I have something very different to show you. I made a journal! The one I am showing you is my second journal, the first one had really crappy binding (we don’t get good book rings here and I spiral bind it myself) so I thought I’d show you a better version before the other one.
I used half of the Carolina Breeze papers for this one (remaining half I am saving for another journal! *wink*). I did use DCWV as a front page only because I didn’t want to waste TC’s gorgeous designs by gluing the other beautiful side! And I also used bits of American Crafts Christmas cardstock (glittered)
Sooo here you go!
IMG_2067
Handmade flower – from scratch! Faux epoxy on swirls, frame is Silhouette cut.
IMG_2069
I had no stamp that said “Forever” so used my dad’s mini alpha stamps instead, I think it looks okay?
IMG_2071
Left page has a pocket and 3 tags. The tags are stamped, journaling area/photo mat provided behind the tags.
The right page has a photo mat with glittery butterflies.
IMG_2072
Here you can see the journaling/ photo mat area and the tags too! I so wish I had more sentiment stamps, next on my list is to get Teresa Collin’s stamp maker!
IMG_2073
IMG_2074
What you see on the left hand side is a handmade medallion with a button center, this page is a peekaboo page of sorts and on the right there is a pocket with two tags.
IMG_2075
IMG_2076
The scallops are hand cut.
IMG_2077
In the above picture, the right hand side page is a flap and opens up to reveal a photo mat and journaling area.
IMG_2078
I hope you guys liked it! I for one am loving these journals and making them is SO fun! The best part is that Teresa Collins’ papers are so sturdy and textured that you don’t need extra layering to give them body. I have my eyes on a couple more of her collections and people you have been with me forever now and you know I have never ever gone crazy after designer paper brand because they all are so beautiful but this... THIS.I.LOVE!
much love, keep crafting!

Sentimental Sundays: Easel Card

DSC05174

Hello everyone! How are you guys doing?! All’s well and very busy at my end here. This week the challenge at Sentimental Sundays is to make an Easel card. Our sponsors are Fred She Said and Milk Coffee.

DSC05173

DSC05170

I kept the oval inside blank for now but it will be filled in later by my aunt. I used the DCWV Coral Couture stack, this paper was originally off white and inked it with Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo distress inks to get the perfect redish brown colour. The flower is handmade.

Please stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog to check out what the other designers created. Until next post, have an absolutely fantastic time!

lots of love,

~E

PS: this card was made on order for someone’s 50th wedding anniversary.

Lia Stampz: A note of Thanks.

DSC05573

It's that time again!  Time for a new challenge! It's November and a time where a lot of us reflect on what we are thankful for.  This fortnight, make a Thank You card!

This fortnight we were given this absolutely adorable and pretty stamp called “Blue Tit Bird” by Lia Stampz. Here is what I created based on CASE Study inspiration.

DSC05570

HAHA I know I went a bit overboard considering that Angeline Yong’s card is just perfectly simple, but I really wanted to add a lot of dimension and layers.

The birdie is colored with Classic Faber Castell color pencils. The multi coloured paneling is a result of playing around with distress inks and then finally running it through the bug.

I hope you all will join us over at Lia Stampz this fortnight, I am sure we all have our thank you cards ready at the go! I can’t wait to see your thank you creations!! Link up people! Have a super great day!

xoxo

E

PS: I really want to buy Distress Markers. Copics is not an option for me but I can see myself working with distress markers as it would make my coloring look a bit better and they will fill fill in the “white gaps” left by pencil colouring. So my question is, should I buy them or not?

I forgot to add them in the cart and checked out, so thought I’d ask your opinion about distress markers.

DSC05461

Hello everyone! Today I bring to you a brand new challenge at Lia Stampz! The theme this fortnight is HALLOWEEN.

Here is my card using “Branson Moon” by Lia Stampz.

DSC05458

These paper strips were lying around from the last card I made (the rainbow one), I love it when I can actually use up the scraps I have saved! The image is coloured with Faber Castell Classic colour pencils. I added faux stitching to give a little bit more interest to the scrap-y design.

Head over to Lia Stampz folks to enter and win this quirky image!

Rainbow

Hello folks!
It has been a long time since I played at CASE Study. This week the inspiration piece has so much variety, you can come up with anything; from CAS to over the top layers! Here is my take on it:
DSC05340
I took the layers element from Julia’s card but kept it CAS embellishment wise. It’s a pretty simple and popular design, we have seen so many versions of this. I will be entering this at Moxie Fab Birthday challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.
